While I enjoy creative writing and the innumerable possibilities that accompany that style of writing, this section of my e-Portfolio is dedicated to academic writing. During the Spring 2012 semester, I wrote an essay for LA101H about the impending student debt crisis in the United States and the College Cost and Reduction Act (CCRA). Collectively, student debt reached a high in January 2012, and as an undergraduate student with many years of graduate school on the way, this is a pressing social issue that pertinent to my peers, as well as myself.
In light of the rhetorical knowledge I have gained this semester, I worked to write concisely about the importance of the policy I chose to advocate for. Given the severity of the debt crisis, I revised my essay to more completely explore the benefits of the CCRA, thus providing a well-grounded ethos.
